When you first start using prescription topical treatments for acne, you may notice your skin becoming red, flaky or even worsening of your acne. But don't worry, if your acne does flare a little bit at the start of treatment it will settle down after a few weeks when your skin adjusts; it is important not to completely stop the treatment if you do find you get a flare-up when you first start using it. The treatments can also make your skin feel dry and tight as well as giving you a burning, itching or stinging sensation. This is a normal response to the treatment and should be expected. If you experience this please contact our team who can advise how best to move forward with your treatments and suggest ways to minimise your side effects.
